PRESS RELEASE
Hartford Police Department Shop with a Cop
December 6, 2017
This year showed an outpouring of businesses supporting Shop with a Cop as first-time donors, resulting in a tremendous increase in the number of businesses contributing! Along with the many other community businesses, organizations, and private citizens from the Hartford area, the Shop with a Cop program held December 2, 2017, at Walmart collected over $5800 for 15 needy children and their families, totaling 78 family members.
After shopping, the children enjoyed food donated by Subway. They also played games and interacted with the officers while their gifts were wrapped by volunteers from Wellspring Community Church of Hartford.
Members of the Hartford Police Department, Hartford Explorers, and officers from the Town of Hartford Police Department donated their time to spend with the kids and help them shop.
Our partners at Westbury Bank collected $270 in donations from their customers to go toward the purchase of presents this year -- Thank You!
