CURBSIDE RECYCLING ITEMS

Co-mingle the following items in the new VEOLIA RECYCLING CART.

MUST BE SPI CODE # 1-7

Steel (Tin) Cans

Place above items out by 7:00 am EVERY OTHER WEEK on your regular garbage day, per the recycling calendar available at City Hall.  Use of a VEOLIA RECYCLING CART is required for Curbside pick-up. 
 

RECYCLING CENTER ITEMS

CITY RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO DELIVER THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO THE RECYCLING CENTER.

Car Batteries

Large Cardboard (flattened)

Leaves

Garden Waste & Grass Clippings

Used Motor Oil & Anti-Freeze

Appliances** & Metal Items

**City residents may arrange for Appliance pick-up.  Cost is $15 per appliance.  Pay fee at City Hall Cashier's Counter.  With receipt in hand schedule your APPOINTMENT for curbside pick-up at the Engineering Counter.  Call 673-8259 if you have a question.

Tires* (no rims)

*City residents must pay a $5.00 per tire disposal fee at the Recycling Center.  Commercial businesses must pay $10.00 per tire disposal fee at the Recycling Center.

Recycling Rules:

  • Glass, aluminum, tin and steel cans, newspapers, magazines, cardboard, office paper and plastics shall be mixed together in your VEOLIA RECYCLING BIN.

  • All other materials shall be placed in a trash container (provided it meets garbage policy requirements)

Definitions...

Aluminum Cans:  Rinse.  May be crushed. No other aluminum items such as foil or bottle caps.

Plastic:  Plastic containers must be marked SPI #1-7 and include:

  • One gallon and one-half gallon milk bottles

  • One gallon water bottles

  • Two gallon water dispensers

  • Liquid laundry containers

  • Windshield solvent bottles

  • One, two and three liter soda bottles

Rinse plastic containers clean and discard lids in trash.  Not accepted are:  Styrofoam, plastic cups and film, hard plastic toys, pails, etc..., medicine bottles & syringes.

Steel (Tin) Cans:  Food and beverage cans only.  Rinse cans. Remove labels.  No aerosol or paint cans accepted.

Newspapers/Magazines:  No bathroom waste paper, carbon paper, cellophane, cloth, cork, foil, polystyrene, anything Styrofoam, anything waxed, candy wrappers, napkins, paper cups, paper food containers, photographs, fiberboard, labels and label backings.

DO NOT RECYCLE STYROFOAM. It is garbage
